Kari Pius Baker was born and raised in the Midwest, but as a young adult migrated to the Pacific Northwest for its lush landscape and outdoor recreation. As a healing arts practitioner and writer, she lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and two daughters. This is her first published children's book.
